How can ABN AMRO update its product and system icons to a new style while making sure they all stay consistent and clear?

Objective

Objective

The goal is to update 860 icons (360 system icons and 500 product icons) to match the new style. Clear guidelines will be created for the system icons, similar to the ones already in place for product icons.

Visual concept

  • Consistency: The new style ensures all icons look uniform and align with ABN AMRO’s brand.


  • Vector Format: Icons will be delivered in vector format so they can be easily resized without losing quality.


  • Multiple Formats: Icons can also be delivered in formats like PNG and SVG if needed.

The updated icons will give ABN AMRO a fresh, consistent look across all platforms. Key steps include:


Initial Samples: A few icons will be designed first and checked by the client. Once approved, the rest will be created.


Guidelines for System Icons: New rules will be written to guide the design of system icons, ensuring future consistency.


Delivery: The final icons will be delivered in formats like AI, PNG, and SVG for easy use.

This approach will ensure a smooth transition to the new icon style, strengthening ABN AMRO’s visual identity.
